Welcome to 2026! As we start this year, I wanted us to understand clearly that there is no alternative to God. He is the foundation of success. The Bible says in Acts 17:28, “In Him we live and move and have our being.” So, wherever we find ourselves this year, we must remember that we can make it through God alone. May the Lord bless and cause us all to succeed, in Jesus name. Amen.

In the book of Exodus, God made it abundantly clear that He is the only God. His Deity is unquestionably established, and to question that is utter foolishness. When God was handing down the ten commandments, He began by saying “I am the Lord your God.” Our God is not a god, He is God. He is not a lord, He is the Lord. In Revelation 19:16, the Bible describes Him as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. And while describing Himself in Revelation 22:13, He says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.

In Exodus, the Bible expresses God’s unwillingness to share His status with anyone, or anything, for that matter. God Himself, in this scripture, says:

Exodus 20:3-6 NKJV

"You shall have no other gods before Me. "You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. 

Attempting to make, worship or serve anything or anyone else is in direct course collision with the Almighty God. The commandment is simple - there will be no other god before or besides Him. And when it comes to His supremacy and power, His words reverberate so they leave no one in doubts. This is why David says in the book of Psalms:

Psalm 62:11 NKJV

God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.

The road to success in 2026 is to realize that God stands alone, and Him alone must be worshipped. In whatever we do, wherever we go and however things are, God stands supreme and He does not shake. Nothing catches Him unaware, and He is not surprised by any situation or anyone’s behaviour. He already knows the account of 2026 and everything that will take place is already on His radar and He does monitor it all on His dashboard.

Do you want to succeed this year? You need God’s mercy, and in Exodus 20:6, the Bible says that He shows “mercy to thousands, to those who love Him and keep His commandments.” You may be smart, thank God, and you may be quick, praise Him. You may be wise, all glory to Him, and you may be skillful, bless His holy name. In all these, look at what the Bible says in the book of Ecclesiastes:

Ecclesiastes 9:11 NKJV

I returned and saw under the sun that The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.

Only God can give you the chance (opportunity) to succeed. Building a life without God is building an empire that will collapse (remember the rich fool in Luke 12:16-21). God alone can open doors that the enemy has closed and ensure that the enemy can no longer close those doors. He alone can make a way where one does not exist. When Christ is in your boat, even a tsunami cannot capsize it. Lay the right foundation for yourself this year: love God, keep His commandments, work hard, and commit your ways to Him. I pray that on December 31 2026, you look back and give Him the glory for all He would have equipped you to achieve.
