Exodus 13:21-22

Never mind that if you have a car accident, the insurance company is asking lots of questions to see if there’s a clause that you violated or did not pay attention to or may not even have read when the contract was served to you, the life insurance, a more important one, is treated the same way. Many years ago, I heard the story of a lady whose husband died and whose insurance company refused to pay owing to some obscure clause in the contract. The lady, I was told, went to the insurance company daily to make a scene until the company became embarrassed and did something about her plight. There are tens of pages and clauses in these contracts and how many people have time to read or even understand those clauses!
Compared to the chaos and uncertainty of the earthly insurance products and contracts, we have a God who’s got you covered without hidden clauses or difficulties in understanding the terms of the coverage. Look at God’s health insurance, for example: in Exodus 15:26;
He said, "If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you."
You may say, well, that sounds like a lot – how do you remember all of the commandments of the Lord in order for you to obey them all? Surprise: there are only two! When the Pharisees ganged up together to test Jesus concerning His knowledge of the law in Matthew 22:34-40, Jesus’ response was simple. In verses 37-40:
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
These two commandments are all we ever have to obey, and we are covered under the health insurance. Every other insurance product from God contains those two clauses and we are good to go.
Perhaps at no other time have we seen God’s heavy presence with His people as we saw when God brought Israel out of Egypt. The outlandish miracles witnessed among the people left no one in doubt that the Almighty God was among them. Look at how God guided them through the wilderness; in Exodus 13:21-22, the Bible says:
By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.
We do not have the pillar of cloud and of fire today, but we don’t need these anymore, because something greater is guiding us: The Holy Spirit. In Romans 8:14, the Bible says those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. The Holy Spirit is our pillar of cloud and fire today, guiding us in our way and pointing danger zones to us so we can avoid them.
God’s got you covered! In Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5, the Bible says God will never leave nor forsake us. It may be raining, or the sun may be shining, you may be passing through the waters, the rivers or even fire, yet, the Lord never forsakes you (Isaiah 43:2). You do not have to live in constant fear of what may happen today or tomorrow because God has you covered. If He has been shielding you since the day you were born, why would tomorrow be different? Even the very hairs of your head are numbered (Matthew 10:30) and you don’t even know how many they are, but God knows. Does this now show how much you are in good Hands?
All the devil ever wants you to focus on are your negative experiences because he never wants you to trust your Savior. Especially at this period when there is a pandemic out there, all you see on TV are negative and depressing news, but you don’t have to succumb to these because nothing can take you out of this world if God has not said it’s time to come home. Your part is to wake up day after day and trust God step after step. If God is not strong enough to protect you, no one ever is. As you step out this week, go with confidence knowing that your Father who sees the whole world at the same time can never take His eyes off you. Relax, go in peace, and have a wonderful week!

PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
