Revelation 1:4-8

For decades (centuries, possibly), archeologists have tried to check the truth of the Bible. They do this by going to the sites mentioned in the Bible, including finding the current names of ancient locations and carrying out excavations and checking ages of objects they discover so they could compare with Bible times. One thing they have not succeeded in discovering, however, is the age of the earth. No matter how much they spin this, no one has been able to decode when Genesis 1:1 occurred. The more scientists try to discover God, the more they fail, because the Almighty cannot be measured in a lab experiment or observed under a microscope.
In Revelation chapter 1 verse 8, Jesus Christ revealed to John:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
And in Psalm 90 verses 1 and 2, the Bible says:
Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God
What do these scriptures mean? That our God dwells in eternity is no subject for discussion. Everyone of us has a date of birth, even if some don’t know theirs. And yet, unless Jesus comes back in our generation, everyone has a potential date of death. We do not know what took place before we were born, except for those who study history, nor will we know what will take place after we are dead. Contrast this with God, He existed before time begun, and will remain till time no longer makes sense.
The failure of scientists to decode Genesis 1:1 is what led them to the theory of evolution, which, permit me to say, is the product of the arrogance of not wanting to admit to the phrase ‘I don’t know.’ The evolution theorists want to give you an alternate narrative to God. They want you to live in alternate reality, or, what, in recent years, became known as ‘Alternative Facts.’ For the records, there is only one set of facts in any phenomenon. Not only does digging in the opposite direction not make sense, it is an outright waste of time.
In Isaiah 45 verse 5, it is written:
I am the Lord, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me
It does not matter what people think, there will never be a time when God ceases to be God. He is the Alpha and the Omega – these are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabets, much like the ‘A’ and the ‘Z.’ He is the Beginning and the End, everything else occurs in-between. So, when people put some man-made images or crafted woods in some corners of their homes or business locations and bring oblations to them, don’t we just say what a waste of time and money!
If anyone wants to contest God, I can only wish the person good luck. Let the person begin by telling us where he or she was in the beginning. The contest between the pot and the potter does not usually resolve in favor of the former, because in Isaiah 45:9, the Bible says:
“Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’?
Have you ever tried to find out what happened before the beginning? Look, don’t start a journey that has no clear destination. God is a Constant. He is Given. He is the only God who is, who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Period.
As you go out this new week, may the God who dwells in eternity guide you. May He be kind to you and may He make your ways to be successful. May He make the crooked places straight and may He grant answers to your prayers, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Have a blessed week!
