Is It Impossible?

Daniel 11:32

Message No. 0588 | Twitter @GodandUs | www.wisdom-speaks.ca

I recently heard someone say, ‘Everything is always impossible until someone does it.’ In fact, nothing can be truer than this statement. The lightbulb was impossible until Thomas Edison did it. The telephone was impossible until Alexander Graham Bell invented it. The motor car was impossible until Carl Benz. Until the Wright Brothers, there was no airplane. And, who invented the Internet? Well, good question; many people. However, it would have been an insane thing to think of what we have now, and anyone born in the last 40 years would never have imagined a world without the internet.

How about people who lived well before those inventions? It was impossible to stop the sun and the moon from rolling forward, until Joshua issued a command to stop them (Joshua 10:12). It was impossible to kill 1,000 men with the jawbone of a donkey, until Samson did it (Judges 15:16). It was impossible to use a sling and a small stone to kill a battle-ready-dressed veteran of war, until David did it (1 Samuel 17:49). It was impossible for a small bottle of oil to fill up several big containers, until Elisha (2 Kings 4:3-7).

The amazing thing is that Joshua did not think twice when he issued his command. He did not go aside to a quiet place to reflect and he did not call a committee to debate what he was about to do. He did not even remember that what he was about to command was impossible. He just issued his command. And who can forget how stupid David must have behaved at the age of 17 when he used a stone to kill Goliath. The elders must have been wondering, does this boy think he is in the bush trying to kill a bird? He was never scared of the armory of the war professional he was about to face, nor was he mindful of how small he looked, compared to Goliath. He was so confident in his God that all of that did not matter.

In Daniel 11:32b, the Bible says:

But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

Do you think that something is impossible? That’s when it becomes exciting in the Kingdom of God, because the Bible says in Luke 1:37, ‘For with God, nothing shall be impossible.” In Matthew 19:26b, Jesus told His disciples, “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

As we read this final message of the year, let us take account of how many things we have let go because we did not believe it was possible. Let us review how many things fear has stopped us from doing because we were afraid of failing. Let us think of benefits we have lost because we did not think we could have them. Let us consider lives we failed to touch because of our hesitation and lives we could have won to Christ if we had dared to make a move.

As we enter 2022, let us remember that something is always impossible until someone does it. What will it be for you in the new year? Do you have your eyes on something? Please know that you are the only one who can stop yourself. The Bible says if God be for us, who can be against us. God already lives in 2022. May we all meet Him there and work with Him to achieve His goals and conquer every fear that hinders us from achieving ours. From Wisdom Speaks, I wish you all Happy New Year!

 PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
