The world today is filled with idolized celebrities, who impact peoples’ lives in various ways. Celebrities are people who cannot walk past without people commenting. They are people who walk in and the room is quiet, who talk, and people listen, who act, and people watch. Celebrities cannot be missed. They cannot just mix up with the crowd without people noticing them, and if their followers are not available to watch their shows, they always have the shows recorded so they can watch later. Celebrities don’t need to be announced; they are known, at least, by majority of the people. They carry with them an aura of grace and earthly glory that is difficult to miss.
Now, powerful as the aura of the earthly celebrities might be, there is an aura that makes this mere rags. In Isaiah 64 verse 6, the Bible says that all our righteousness is like filthy rags before God. This makes the short-term glory of the earthly celebrity complete nonsense if it is not backed up by God. It does not matter what the achievements of men are, it does not matter how elevated the world may have placed them, it does not matter how highly they see themselves; all these are what Solomon called vanity upon vanity in Ecclesiastes 1:2.
There is a glory that supersedes and far outweighs the glory of this world. It is the glory that made the face of Moses to shine after spending days with God on the mountain. The Bible records in Exodus 34:29-35 that his face shined so much that the Israelites were afraid to come near him. He eventually had to put a veil to cover his face in order to make himself more human to the Israelites. It is the honor conveyed by this type of Glory that made kings to call Elisha ‘My father.’ It is the power accompanying this glory that made the people who wanted to arrest Jesus to fall down backwards when He said to them ‘I am He,’ in John 18:6. This glory is the effect of the righteousness and holiness of the Almighty Creator.
Not many people can manifest this type of glory. Before Moses’ face shined to the Israelites, he had spent 40 days with God on the mountain, talking to no one but God. Before Elisha was so respected, he had served Elijah, the man of God, one of only two people who walked with God and was transported to heaven without dying. As admirable and as powerful as the glory of God is, we need to do certain things in order to be carriers of this glory.
We need to be God’s children because no filthy vessel can carry His glory. No one can go out and expect to be conferred upon, the respect of a prince or a princess unless he or she is the son or daughter of a king. The guys who wanted to cast out a demon “In the name of Jesus Christ whom Paul preaches” received their immediate answers by landing in the hospital, wounded.
We need to spend time reading and studying His Words. In 2 Corinthians 3:18, the Bible says:
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
When we study the Word of God day and night, it is like looking into the mirror and seeing ourselves clearly. We see God clearly through His Words and we are by so doing transformed into His Image. This was the reason Moses’ face shined when he came down from that mountain.
After reading God’s Words, we need to be obedient to those Words. This is the reason Elisha had so much honor, he was just as obedient as his master, Elijah, carrying a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. Obedience to God means that God can trust us and can therefore embed His Power and anointing on us.
The world is in need of people who would manifest the glory of God, who would step into a challenging situation and everything changes for good, who would be shining examples of how God wants us to live on this earth, who people can look up to for righteousness and holy living, who would show what the Kingdom of God means here on earth. Are you, perhaps, this person? Would you offer to be the godly celebrity that people would follow to learn and imbibe the ways of God in 2022?

PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
