The Beginning and the End 1

Revelation 22:13

When you draw a straight line between two points, say, A and B, you are said to have connected the two points. Because the line is straight, there is no leakage between the two points. If the line were to provide electricity, there would be a direct power flowing between the two points. Electricity would travel from one point direct to the other, meaning that one point would feed the other. In other words, one point would depend on the other.

In Revelation chapter 22 verse 13, Jesus revealed to John:

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End

The difference between this statement and our electricity example is that, whereas there’s travel from point A to B in the case of electricity transmission, there is no travel between the Beginning and the End, in Jesus’ statement. He is the Beginning and the End. He is at both points already, and at the same time.

When we talk of our God, we talk of the only God. We talk of the God that predates everything. We talk of the God whose decision it was to create existence; in other words, He is the Existence before the existence. Without Him, nothing else was, is, or would ever be. If He decided to not create the earth, there wouldn’t be one. If He decided to not create the sea, the animals, the gardens, and plants, they wouldn’t be in existence. He, it was, who decided to make man, in His own image. “In the image of God created He him; male and female created He them” (Genesis 1:27).

There is no archaeological evidence that could show what was before God started creating. When documentaries don’t know what to say, they speak of creatures they thought were in existence hundreds of millions of years before now. The fact is no one knows. There is no documentation to rely on, so they just infer. The only One who knows is our heavenly Father. In Psalm 90 verse 2, the Bible says of Him:

Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

No on knows what God knows. No one sees what He sees. Even those who don’t believe in God often surrender when they do not know something; they tell you, ‘Only God knows.’ That might be the only true statement they make regarding God. His eyes see His entire creation all at once. There is no hiding anything from Him.

Lord, You are so great that no book can describe You. Even the Bible only gives us a glimpse of who You are. No word can explain You. No mind can imagine You. You can only be revealed, and even then, we still don’t get it. Our minds are incapable of comprehending who You are. If one of the most basic things that you give to your children, peace, still passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7), how much more is the totality of Your Being. There’s only one thing we can do, Lord, and that is to worship You, in surrender to all that You are.

If you are reading this and you are yet to surrender to God, please do, without delaying further. There is no alternative to His overwhelming preeminence. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. As you go out this week, may you feel His presence in your life, your family and in everything that you are or do. Have a blessed week!

 PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
