The Things That Accompany Salvation 4

So far, we’ve looked at some benefits of salvation, basing our discussions on Paul’s letter to the Hebrews, chapter 6 verses 1-9. We have looked at Freedom from Guilt, Adoption, and Justification. There are a lot more to discuss, but we will probably stop next week so we can look at other subjects.

This week, let us look at Authority. When we give our lives to Christ, our positions change. The day before we surrender our lives, we may have been people without power, but the moment we cross into the family of God, our positions change. In Luke chapter 10 verse 19, Jesus told His disciples:

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

This is not just some ordinary power. One man of God says that before he gave his life to Christ, he was running away from his village, and he wouldn’t even visit. But when he surrendered his life, he went home and held a crusade, daring any witch or wizard or demonic agents to show up. There is a boldness that accompanies the surrendering of one’s life to Christ. In the above passage, Jesus says we can trample upon all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt us. In Ephesians 1:19-23, the Bible says:

And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

This is no joke. The Bible says our lives are hid in Christ, and Christ’s in God (Colossians 3:3). If this is the case, it means that if Christ is seated at the right Hand of God, that is where we are also, because our lives are hid in Him. If Christ is seated far above all principality and power and might and dominion, that is where we are also. This means that there is no basis for fear of anything on planet earth because we are seated far above the troublemakers.

Do you know that the devil has no right to touch you when you surrender your life to Christ? How can he even reach you where your life is hiding? This is not to say that we will no longer have problems, but Jesus already warned us about these, and His Words say we should cheer up, because He has overcome the world. An envoy of a government represents the king, or president, or head of state. That person carries authority, and some powers. He or she will be respected as though the head of government has visited. When we become Christians, we become envoys of our Father in Heaven, and we carry authority with us. It’s the devil’s turn to fear us, not put us to fear. We left that position behind and should never again return to it.

PLEASE ACT NOW:

If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:

Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.

If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
