1 Samuel 2:6-9

The world often speaks of “survival of the fittest,” alluding to the belief that success will always go to the strong, while those who are weak will always go home as losers. If you watch the game called wrestling, you probably would say yes, that assertion is true. However, if you watch it enough, you would have seen situations where the so-called underdogs defeat the giants in very rare upsets. That’s because in this world nothing is permanent and no matter how repeatedly sure something is, a day is coming when it will fail.
In every department of life, we see people lording it over other people. The master-servant relationship is as old as humanity. Nations fight against nations and those who have superior weapons tend to win, until they don’t. That’s because in 1 Samuel chapter 2 verse 9, the Bible says:
He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. “For by strength no man shall prevail.”
What this means is that those who rely solely on their strengths will be disappointed on the very day they badly need to win. If you do not believe this, you must ask Goliath. Oh, that’s if he can speak, because I remember that his head was cut off by David (a very small dude) in a battle where he had all the strength and all the weapons of war, whereas, on the other hand, David only had a sling and a smooth stone.
Children of God must realize that the fastest way to lose a battle is to rely on own strength, own wisdom, own methods, and own connections. Just as the righteousness of man is like filthy rags before the holy God, so is the wisdom of man, they are like foolishness before our God. If anyone wants to boast of qualifications, what does the person have, compared to Paul the apostle? Look at what Paul himself said about his credentials in Philippians 3:4b-6:
If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.
This is like saying: when we speak of knowledge, no one can stand beside me. I have two first degrees, a master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in Rocket Science. Besides, I have three professional qualifications and have invented many of the tools and methods that are in use in the western world today. On planet earth, people will stand up and clap for such a person when his or her name is mentioned. But before God, the only qualification that matters is P.o.U (Professor of Humility). Your knowledge is useless, your inventions are useless, your qualifications are trash, your strength is useless. Just ask Paul. In Philippians 3:7-9, he continued his ‘disqualification’ story:
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.
I am yet to see anyone who carried his qualifications beyond the grave. No matter how rich you are, if you are buried with gold and silver, people will dig up your casket at night and steal the jewelry. That’s because it is useless for you beyond the grave.
If you currently are overqualified, please surrender your qualifications at the Feet of Jesus. Don’t get me wrong, education is good, and qualifications are great, but credentials don’t deliver salvation and you will surely not be addressed as Prof. in heaven. If all you want to do is beat your chest and point people to your achievements and worship yourself and demand that others worship you, then I recommend to you the book of Daniel chapter 4 verses 28-37. And if you base your security and survival in the amount of wealth you have amassed, then I suggest the Parable of the Rich Fool in Luke 12:13-21.
This world may be a place of struggle for survival, but there are those who have already lost. Those who believe that they don’t need God will find Him waiting for them at the very point where the strength of man has no chance. If you haven’t given your life to Christ, please do so without further delay. I see a man who advertises on TV that he is not afraid of burning in hell. If you are not related to him, then I plead with you to run to the Feet of Jesus. This is the only place where freedom is assured.

PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
