Psalm 24:1-10

Imagine traveling on vacation and being shown around an ancient city where the tour guide is telling you about their ancestors who lived in the 1500s and how they built the city and how the structures you were being shown had been in existence for more than 500 years. The tour guide is so eloquent and so convincing and after 4 hours of the bus tour of the city you come back to your hotel happy and satisfied that you have learned something new. During your vacation you have been posting pictures on Instagram and Facebook and when you return home you are eager to share your experiences with friends and family members. There is no doubt in your mind that the things you heard from the tour guide are true, right?
Then why do people doubt it when the Bible so explicitly describes the creations of God and how He established the foundations of the earth on the seas and established it on the waters. Why is there a doubt when the Bible contains stories of how God spoke the Word and commanded the earth to be in existence. Why do people choose instead to believe the lies from National Geographic and other history channels when they speak of hundreds of millions of years, when there is no indication that human beings existed during that time period. Why do people simply choose to believe man, rather than God.
In Psalm 24, verses 1 and 2, David starts by saying:
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
How is it that it’s easier for people to believe guys like Albert Einstein and theories like the Big Bang Theory where people theorized possible explanations of how the earth came to being, while rejecting the vivid explanations in the creation story of the Bible. Has the arrogance of man not led humanity into believing that no one is superior to them or has the process of creating things, which we experience daily, led all of us to believe that it is impossible to command things into existence?
Before we all get carried away into the ways of this world, I thought it’s good to remind us that there is a supreme being who decreed the planet we live into existence. This supreme being is described by David in his rhetorical question and answer in verse 8:
Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
For emphasis, David repeats this question in verse 10, “Who is He, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty – He is the King of glory.” In Exodus 15:3, the Bible says, “The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is His name.” In Isaiah 45:5, the Bible says, “I am the Lord, and there is no other.” Because of all the education we have received and all the books we have read, our minds may have been conditioned into believing that we are all-knowing and all-powerful. I am sorry to insult our confidence but there is nothing farther from the truth. God is simply God, a being in His sole class, comparable to no one else. He is the King of Glory. He is the I am that I am. He is the Maker of heaven and earth. There was none before Him, and none will ever come after Him. The Lord is His name. Period.

PLEASE ACT NOW:
If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:
Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
